You Have A Problem With The Core Of The CAD Import Module

You may come across an error code that points to the core of the cad importer. There are several ways to solve this problem, and we will talk about them a little later.

The software contains four mechanisms for creating and manipulating geometry: its own geometric kernel, which is the head of the base package, and this time a CAD import module for directly importing CAD geometry, although the name suggests. The earlier kernel allows users to create their own geometry in a multiphysics package.

Geometry is usually the core of the geometry management software component in the COMSOL Multiphysics® web interfaces. You may be wondering what resources we have or how and why clients will use them in their modeling. Let’s figure it out.

Geometry In The Process Of Modeling

Creating or importing geometry is probably the first step in the modeling process in COMSOL Multiphysics. Depending on the purpose of our modeling, the geometry can be a valid or idealized representation of the latter device.

There are several ways to customize the geometry. For example, we are dragging rectangular shapes onto the artboard and extrude them, or we can optionally create a solid object and combine it with other solid objects to get the final shape. In some cases, the device we bring is composed of several parts. To be able to apply different settings, we would need to draw all of these parts as separate solid objects.

For example, geometry imported directly from a CAD file should be corrected or simplified by removing small parts or unnecessary parts. In COMSOL® software, we can draw new shapes to complement the provided objects. Regardless of how people create geometry, we can always go back and edit various experiences (which are collected in our own geometric sequence under the Geometry node in the model builder). We

Now that we’ve created the base geometry, we can define the physics, add material and edge parameters, and then link the geometry. If necessary, we can return home to change the design, in a test that willIt uses the physical parameters of the regions and boundaries that we all initially chose. Before solving, we create a finite element mesh, which should provide a reasonable approximation of the geometry. Finally, we evaluate the most important simulation results by planning them in terms of geometry.

In Multiphysics, the comsol geometric kernel is the software component that basically ensures the correct functioning of all the above functions. The kernel provides tracking of mathematical representations in geometric objects that we draw and / or possibly import. It has functions and methods that are built for these objects and specific interactions between them, such as join or overlap. In addition, there is an aspect of the geometric kernel that ensures that the geometry is truly associative; that is, we can change it without reapplying the physical settings. In addition, the entire kernel can also provideProvide selective geometry information for other useful components, such as

Geometric popcorn kernels can be customized for different purposes. For maximum performance, COMSOL Multiphysics offers two cores rather than one core. The COMSOL kernel works best with geometry created in a program. To process imported CAD geometry, the CAD module must: Import the design module; and LiveLink ™ for CAD products, which you can easily view in the COMSOL® software suite, contain a dedicated geometry engine, the Parasolid® engine (called a specific CAD engine in a separate interface).

The Parasolid® kernel offers functions for restoring imported CAD projects. It also contains features to simplify any geometry – for example, removing corner holes but imported objects. The Parasolid® kernel also supports the geometric modeling functions found in module designs, for example. Finally, the Parasolid® core also implements conventional geometric positions.niya. This means that we can also use this kernel to capture and modify geometry, including imported CAD objects.

    Select Geometric Core

When we install COMSOL Multiphysics®, which includes a license that includes a CAD import plug-in, a design plug-in, or any specific LiveLink ™ CAD product, the Parasolid® engine is configured so that when a new device is launched. However, we can easily change some of the settings in the preferences window.

To check and modify the geometry core here in the model component, after we have definitely started modeling, we can click each geometry node in the model builder to access the geometry parameter display.

By changing the Geometry index in the parameters, we can calculate which core is processing geometry within the current model component. Changing the kernel requires a sequence of restoring the geometry usingleveraging our own kernel, to which we have upgraded. If we tend to switch kernels in a model that may already contain solutions, we avoid re-resolving the model by clicking the Refresh Solution button on the Exploration toolbar to see the solutions along the way to the new geometry generated from the map.

  • A geometry sequence will not be recreated by the Comsol engine if it contains operations that are only available in the CAD engine. These operations include operations, which, in turn, are displayed in the “Delete and Repair” section of the “Geometry” toolbar; change in functionality (if the imported file is in a format supported by the CAD importer); as well as Loft, Midsurface, Thicken, Fasen and Congé operations in the design module. As a result, we can convert some geometric shapes into objects that can be used with your COMSOL® engine, as described below.

    Geometric Transformation

When we import geometry from a new CAD file, we often prepare to build an analysis using a case Any deactivation operations available in a specific CAD importer engine. Although the CAD Import module needs to open a model with this geometric sequence, there is a simple two-step process to split the geometry in the usual COMSOL Multiphysics format (.mphbin or .mphtxt). First, we edit geometric objects in the exact COMSOL format. You can find the Convert to COMSOL operation under Transforms in the Geometry toolbar, as shown below.

Second, we export the converted geometry to COMSOL Multiphysics format.
