When it comes to ripping an unprotected DVD, Mac buyers needn’t worry – Mac OS X makes it easy. Please note that these instructions only apply to playing reverse DVDs that are not copy protected.
Follow these instructions to make a copy of an unprotected DVD:
- Insert DVD into yourMac. Most Mac computers will automatically launch the DVD player. Once it starts, exit it. You should see your DVD on your desktop.
- Open Disk Utility (Applications> Utilities). Select DVD CD / DVD from the list on the left. You will notice that there are two icons – select DVD with a little padding (this is still DVD, and the first is your drive).
- Click New Image in each of the main Disk Utility windows.
- Select the destination and destination in the special Save As … window. Remember that the destination must have enough space to copy the entire DVD, which can be up to four GB in size.
- Make sure that in all Save As … windows, each of our Image Formats is set to DVD / CD-Master and Encryption is set to None. Click Save.
- After copying the DVD to your primary drive, return to Disk Utility. Your new disk image will look in the list on the left with the Disk Utility window. Remove all original DVDs from your Mac.
- Insert a recordable DVD into your Mac. Choose againь created Disk-From-Image from the list, which is usually located on the left in the glass window of Disk Utility. In the main window of Disk Utility, click Burn. Your selected consumption level and if you want to view the burned data.
- You will receive confirmation once your DVD has been correctly burned and you have all mapped a new copy of your company’s DVD. Just save your latest disk and image, which you can use to create a copy at any time.
