I couldn’t ignore the fact that I threw the Optiplex 755 SFF in the back of my car when I saw it on the reuse stack at work –

I cleaned it out completely and found a $ 35 quad-core 9650 on ebay. I upgraded the graphics card to pretty much all the low profile Powercolor HD7750s I got for $ 55 and in particular some memory that I already needed to increase to 8GB. I also have a couple of SSDs from an older version or splitter. that I might have to feed them both. I’ve always wanted to play Raid 0, but to get rid of my life, I don’t know how to get the raid type in bios.

What am I missing? Updated to the latest BIOS A22. Installs Windows 7 Ultimate. SleepOnce I installed the latest version this machine can work with is 10.6, so I thought this would help me understand the BIOS raid option. No chance. Am I missing something basic? I don’t think (but could be wrong) a card for a RAID controller block would be the answer as it is tied to PCI lane. (I see some really smart people are figuring out how to change the BIOS so you can enable Raid 0 trimming for older chipsets (ICH9DO))

What could have allowed you to activate the raid option in MT and DT, except for SFF 0755? BIOS and chipset as a whole are not the same thing? What can I flash so the machine knows that DT is in effect? ?

I know this is just old technology today, but I think for less than $ 100 I’ll have a system that’s definitely good for rendering videos, etc.

Make sure your BIOS is already in RAID mode. If you don’t have to go to RAID in BIOS. It’s actually as easy as changing the BIOS switch, but it can be done without reinstalling the operating system. If you have already configured RAID in BIOS, this will be the next step. It’s easier. You can install your hard drives and open Matrix Intel Storage Manager console and disk in RAID, 2 min. I changed my system to RAID, but I don’t have an array of disks in RAID, I just wanted eSATA to be hot – swappable possible. From what I’ve read, changing ownership to a RAID will likely result in the loss of all data in it. Visit the Apple website and find the RAID guide.

I followed the procedure below to install the drivers and switch to RAID without reinstalling the OS on this board and it worked for many of me.

This is how I enabled AHCI / RAID mode on my computer:

    1. Download and save the Intel Authorized Matrix Manager driver (from the Intel website or your computer manufacturer’s website). Remember the location of the folder you are in besides the driver.
    2. Open Device Manager, expand the IDE ATA / ATAPI controller branch (it may be different on your computer)
    3. Right click one of the Intel (R) ICH9 Serial ATA Storage entries (I need a 4-port controller, both entries will probably change after a reboot at the current end of this process) to beforecompletion to selection properties
    4. Go to the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button.
    5. Select the “Find a driver on my computer” option.
    6. Select an option from a list of device drivers on several other computers.
    7. Click the Have Disk … button, navigate to the specific location where you saved the Matrix Apple Company Manager driver in step 1, then click iastor.inf.
    8. >

    9. Click OK and select the Intel driver (R ICH8R / ICH9R SATA RAID controller).
    10. Complete the process of updating the storage controller driver.
    11. Restart your desktop and press F2 (or similar on your computer) to enter BIOS and enable the RAID method (change IDE).

After the computer device boots into AHCI / RAID, you can install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Console application (from the Intel website or your computer manufacturer’s website). You don’t need to customize the volume; raid, the Storage Manager console will most likely display the hard drive as a non-RAID volume.

Hope this helps, I’m sure there are more RAIDs here that will give better answers.
