Over the past week, some readers have come across an error message that says the Playstation backup utility has failed. This problem occurs for a number of reasons. We will talk about this below.

Sony File Backup Software and its associated unnecessary exception code error is one of the worst software reports I’ve ever come across. Your error code is slightly different from our decoy, but my answer is probably 4 years ago, maybe it will be easier for you to fix your problem. Also keep in mind that backing up all of your data is only half the battle – you are likely to have more serious problems trying to restore the following items. So leave the original disk inactive until you are 100% sure that our own restore worked. I would post a link to the original Playstation forums thread, but Sony has edited the entire group so many times that the only version I can find is actually cached. I’ll copy and paste everything here:

I have the same problem and decided when to post the solution in this thread as this is the first result that unfortunately comes up when looking for error 800283F0. I am planning to help others who faced the same problememoy.

Let me give you a little working description of things I’ve tried that worked and weren’t configured at first.

Like many others, I tested upgrading my 80GB and 500GB drive. The problem is, I don’t want to lose my purchased videos from the PS3 store, or alternatively backed up copy-protected game data on an external USB hard drive to create a backup utility. It will take about 2 hours. I would install a new drive in the PS3 right after that and try to restore the data from the backup from the external USB drive, which still takes 1 hour, and when pronounced, it is 100% ready. The following message should appear:

“Failed to complete the restore process. The system will reboot. (800283F0) “.

First of all – shame on Sony. I expect much more from online stores than an unnecessary error message. Would it be that hard to see the filename of an unrecoverable document? Or better yet – give me a good way to access the log regarding what went wrong? I am lost inthis 4 hours of my precious time and could not show anything about it.

  • At first I thought the save was corrupted, so I tried again. After another 4 hours, I looked at the same error message again. I don’t give up easily, so this time I tried a lot more with a different USB stick. Same problem. When I started googling for advice and met a lot of people with the same problem. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel that their helpful advice applied to me (many of them didn’t make sense either). Some people uninstalled the suggested PSP, others talked about restoring factory defaults, uninstalling games, etc.

I tried several of these suggestions but nothing worked. I would stop with the same error when I did 100%. The system will reboot and only a few things will actually be saved (a number of saved games and videos, as well as fixes for running games). So

I decided to phase out these items gradually before rescuing people today to find the culprit. I deleted all my PS3 videos from the store (I first backed them up toopium at home). It did not help. I deleted several backup files that someone needs to use. Still didn’t help. … I didn’t really have to do this, because reinstalling games is basically a problem, although I found I didn’t have anything, so you’re losing at this point.

Below is a list of the items I need in the game data folder:

    Red Dead Redemption

    Heavy Rain Creed

    Assassin II

    Uncharted 2

    Unknown Multiple Beta

    Unknown

    Valkyrie

    Assassin’s Creed

    Grand Theft Auto IV

    Create Eye

    Eye of Judgment

    Warhawk

    Forgotten

In the list above, I have crossed out all the elements that I decided to remove. After deleting these types of items, the backup worked. Pay attention to the green files – they were not a problem and were collected correctly. I wish I had time to delete them one by one to fully identify the problematic file, but so far I have done almost 10 attempts tobackup and also lacked patience. Note that I have highlighted the Uncharted 2 Beta. I who believe that certain game dates are most likely responsible for additional bugs, although it is possible that almost all other red elements are also a problem.

To increase the total – to solve the problem I described, you need to delete the best game data. You don’t have to delete all of them. With this in mind, it is likely that only one music file is causing the problem. If you have the Uncharted 2 beta, uninstall it as that is likely the source of the problem. demos in the game data folder.

Also – if you want to solve your problem please post this thread to help others solve the same problem.

EDIT (11/28/2012). Much more than two years have passed since the first post. In addition to the posts, I have read the following Eyetoy game data. Please delete those mp3 files first as they are likely the source of the problem.

I had a real problem and decided to post it in this thread as a solution, sohow could this be the first result shown when looking for error message 800283F0. Hope this helps other people who had the same problem.

Let me give you some examples of what I tried because they worked at first, not worked.

Like many other people, I tried to expand my drive from 80GB to 500GB. The problem is that I didn’t have to lose my copy-protected videos or saved games. in the PS3 store so you can use the cloning utility to create a USB external hard drive. It only takes a few hours. Then I installed all the new drives in the PS3 and tried to restore the data from the backup from the external USB drive. The process will most likely take another 2 hours or more if 100% complete. The following message is displayed:

“The recovery process could not be completed. The computer system will restart. (800283F0) “.

First of all, a shame for Sony. I expect much more from the company than your unnecessary error message. It would be so hard to even see the namea file that definitely cannot be recovered? Or better yet, somehow – will you give me access to a log of what exactly happened? I just wasted 6 hours of my time showing nothing. I

At first I thought the save was somehow corrupted, so I tried again. After another 4 hours, I looked at the same bug project again. I don’t give up so easily, so I tried again, spending some time on another backup key. Same problem. When I started looking for solutions on google and faced a lot of people with the same problem. Unfortunately it didn’t work and sounded like you wanted. There were suggestions as to what I can do (many of them also didn’t make sense). Some people broke the suggested PSP, others talked specifically about resetting to factory defaults, erasing movie memories, etc.

I tried several of these suggestions but nothing worked. I was still getting the same error when I finished 100%. The system rebooted and only a few new things were seriously saved (a few saved games and videos and no real games).

So I decided to phase out the startup items gradually before saving them to help you identify the culprit. I deleted all my PS3 movies from the store (previously saved separately). It did not help. I deleted a bunch of backups I didn’t need. It still didn’t help. So maybe I came across a tip from a client that suggested deleting game data (not game save data). I really didn’t want to write this because it is difficult to reinstall all the latest games, but figured I had nothing to lose by going this far. East

Below is a list of the items I had in the Game Data Options folder:

In the following list, I have crossed out all the elements that I want to remove. After deleting these items, the backup is working. Pay attention to the green files – they are never a problem and were paid for properly. I wish I had used it because it was time to remove them one by one to pinpoint the problem, but for now I did palmost 10 attempts to save and I’m running out of stamina. Please note that I have just highlighted the Uncharted Beta. I think there are certain in-game dates that are most likely to be responsible for the crash when saving, although it is possible that one of the other red solutions is also an issue.

So, you can summarize: the action required to solve the problem I’m describing is to delete your game data. You don’t need to delete all of them, probably because there is only one file that is causing the problem. If you have the Uncharted ii beta demo, please uninstall it as this is most likely a problem. Otherwise, indicate that you have no other demos for the Game Data folder.

Also – if you want to solve your problem, check out this thread to help people with the same problem.

EDIT (11/28/2012). This is more than two years after the initial publication. I read the following posts, it looks like Fair Uncharted and Eyetoy game data is usually the most common problem. Delete the files first, as they may be the sourcecom problem.
