    • Hello everyone

I’m having a dilemma while trying to script to install a printer on 32-bit Windows 7 Professional. Ultimately I want to have a fixed script where I write drivers only for our regular desktopsn printers (mainly Ricoh MFPs, in particular HP LaserJet

I copied all drivers (Ricoh PCL6 Driver for Universal Print, HP Universal Driver v5.0.3 and Lexmark Plain Looking Driver v1.6) locally to (on workstation “C: Windows7PrinterDrivers”) and this is a great scenario: < / p>

      Create REM Port
      Cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prnport.vbs -a -w IP_192.168.1.10 -h 192.168.1.10

      REM Installer Driver
      cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prndrvr.vbs -a -m “Generic PCL6 driver for printing” -hc: Windows7PrinterDrivers x86 ricoh_universal_printer_PCL 32bit -ic: Windows7PrinterDrivers: Windows786 ricter . _32 oemsetup.inf

However, hit when installing the car with the principles of the error “Do not add the PCL6 printer driver for universal programming print error 5”. One touch (for each printer Driver) for error prefix 5.

I have the same idea (Win32 code error 5) while testing the Lexmark authorized generic installer driver, but I get error code eighty-seven for the HP Laserjet single driver.

If I manually add the printer instance and the corresponding directories, the drivers will be installed without details, but the setup will be even easier and more convenient with a script (when I have it to run it).

We would be grateful for any help or suggestion. Thanks.

I am unable to read the printer settings on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Ultimately I really want to have a batch script that I could use to add all the runners for our regular desktop computer printers (mostly Ricoh MFPs, some HP LaserJets

I copied all the drivers (Ricoh PCL6 drivers related to Universal Print, HP Universal Owner v5.0.3 and Lexmark Universal Driver v1.6) from the adjacent room to the workstation (in “C: Windows7PrinterDrivers”) and even c ‘my script:

    Buy REM Driver
    cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prndrvr.vbs -a -m “Generic PCL6 driver for printing” -hc: Windows7PrinterDrivers x86 ricoh_universal_printer_PCL 32bit -ic: Windows7PrinterDrivers: Windows786 ricoPrinter x86 ricohin

However, I am unable to install our stepper driver with the error message “NotIt is possible to add a PCL6 printer driver for Universal Print Error Codes 5 “. Single use (for each printer Driver) due to error code 5.

I get the same voicemail message (Win32 error code 5) when I try to install the Lexmark Common Name driver, but I get an error value of 87 for the HP Laserjet Basic Driver. I

If you manually add laser printers and point them to their websites, the drivers will install without problems, but scripting will make setting them up a lot easier and more convenient (if I can get them to work right away).

    • Code 5 is usually associated with a permission denied error. Are you running this script with elevated privileges (as an administrator)?

    • Hello nettle,

I found that running a specific script as a local administrator with UAC disabled is not the same as running as an accelerated user and Lexmark Universal PCL6 Windows 7 drivers, but I I am still having problems with the HP Universal PCL6 v5.0 So 3 driver, in fact, if anyone has any suggestions, they would be very grateful.

      my script:

      vbs error code 5

      REM Development Port
      Cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prnport.vbs -a -r IP_192.168.1.10 -h 192.168.1.15

      REM-Put Driver
      cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prndrvr.vbs -a -m “hp LaserJet 4250” -h c: Windows7PrinterDrivers X64 hp_v5.0.3_universal_drivers
      -i c: Windows7PrinterDrivers X64 hp_v5.0.3_universal_drivers hpzius23.inf

Specifically, I am trying to install Universal Racer for HP LaserJet 4250 and named it “hp LaserJet 4250” and “DOT4USB”, but the error message keeps showing:

Unable to add HP LaserJet 4250 Win32 printer driver, error code 87

EDIT: Woohoo! I made it work!

    vbs error code 5

I searched Google a little longer to see if I could one day find any links to the HP generic driver that works with prndrvr.vbs and find outruled that I did not have the correct information about the printer or INF file I was using. In any case, it says WORK (I have on at least) correct scripts for the HP Universal PCL6 printer driver for Windows 32-bit:

    cscript% WINDIR% System32 Printing_Admin_Scripts en-US Prndrvr.vbs -a -m “HP Universal Printing PCL 6” -hc: Windows7PrinterDrivers X64 hp_v5.0.3_universal_drivers -ic: Windows7PrinterDrivers X64 hp_v5.0.3_universal_drivers hpcu094c.inf
