Occurrence: This occurs when migrating a MySQL database used by Zed Axis EDI. If the MySQL Configuration Wizard is running, the installation will stop; if an attempt is made to create a window provider, a cross will appear and use will not continue.
Reason: The Installation Wizard is trying to install a service and looking for an existing service with an extreme name, such as MySQL. This can happen if MySQL is already installed on your computer.
Solution: Complete the MySQL installation, open someone’s Windows Task Manager (CTRL ALT + DEL) and select the Services tab, or select the service named MySQL, click fine and select various options to stop the service. Restart the MySQL ascent process.

Long post, I know. I just spent a few hours there, so I had to share some of my research to save you time my. By the way, Win XP Service Pack 2 with MySQL 5.1.31 MSI. It looks like I’m saying that the non-msi MySQL 4.1 installer doesn’t necessarily have this problem.
(When prompted, grab the DOWNLOADS and BACKUPs from the data files / directories. This is an official reinstall)

My solution was to delete all profile app data. So be sure to do
– Remove the instance (including the server) using the Instance Configuration Wizard (at C: Program Files MySQL My SQL Server 5.1 bin MySQLInstanceConfig.exe) by choosing Remove.
– Uninstall MySQL now via Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, you may need to update the F5 list if it doesn’t exist.
– Make sure the MySQL directory in the c: program files is completely removed. Usually there can be old data files lying around.
– Important *, * especially make sure all MySQL directories in the following directories have been removed. Mine didn’t hide, but they deserve this advice:

– Reinstall MSI
– Do not use the data install path. It will now work, but I could not find a fact A physical data file. Use anything else including C: Program Files MySQL Data.
1. This message gives the impression that you only appear after a collision has installed an older version related to mySQL.
2. Removing the service in this case is related to “sc uninstall MySQL” or some service uninstall program could not find me. IMHO it’s best to run the entire Instance Setup Wizard again and choose any option to uninstall it. It is much cleaner.
3. If you see fields with three instead of two in the instance configuration for retrieving server passwords, you have requested the wrong service. Use the entire setup wizard and test the use of profiles.
4. Some recommend the following. They did not affect i (in fact, the application data was nothing and otherwise), but perhaps they currently affect many configurations and systems on others.
– Close your favorite firewall or open the standard MySQL port.
– Manually remove mysql sales lists from registry (this can be risky if you don’t know what you are doing and definitely slows downits with reboot)
– Delete old content files.
– Delete old my.ini files (for example, find directories C: WINDOWS and MySQL)
(For me, all my.ini data and files visited during manual deletion / deletion are in the direction of C: Program Files MySQL)
