Problem
Backup jobs fail with Event ID: 12298 and the following error message in the System Restore event logs
Error EC8F17B7: Unable to create restore points for job
Error E7D1001F: Unable to write file.
Error EBAB03F1: The following operating system error occurred even though the requested operation was completed: “There are not enough system methods to fulfill the sent requests of the operating services.”
Error Message
Event Type: Error – Event Source: VSS – Event Category: None – Event ID: 12298 – Description:
Volume Shadow Copy Error: Service cannot save write I / O while creating large shadow copies.
Reason
Backups usually fail with this error if the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) writers are unstable on the system. Because some VSS writers are unstable, they cannot pause (suspend) a specific volume that is pending, and the snapshot method does not work.
Solutions
1. Quickly open a command and run the following command: vssadmin Quantity Writer
All listed writers should be in a stable state with no errors. If the writers are not immutable, restart the server and, if so, check them again.
2. Install updates to create VSS (depending on theWindows versions)

Hi Steve
I am a little confused by this factor from your description. Could you confirm other details?
I noticed that you returned via a third party financial app (ShadowProtect). Law? Do you mean that a lot of people run into VSS errors that occur when backing up properties through this ShadowProtect app is disabled? Or have you faced this issue while booting from Windows Server Backup earlier? If something is wrong, let me know.
