Solving the problem with loading the IBM t42 recovery disc

You may see an error message that the ibm t42 recovery disc has been loaded. As it turns out, there are several ways to fix this problem, so we’ll talk about that shortly.

The bootable ISO disc is burned and working fine, but I cannot read or validate file discs and is stuck on Insert Product Recovery Disc 1. I created a rar file and placed two specific folders associated with the disc in the root directory, but when I insert it in thinkpad r51 it spins for a second, maybe it spins and pressing ok will do nothing.

Used last night on a T41a (type 2373), then works fine.

Data CDs were burned 4 times with ImgBurn with ISO + Joliet. The MFG and RECOVERY directories MUST be located at the very top of the hard drive, they should not be in any subfolders. In fact, if you point ImgBurn to a folder created with the rar extraction process, it will make sure to ask you if you really want to add subfolders.

I could become a dummy, but at first I thought the product was freezing because the following started in the recovery navigation only after a factory reset. Begin the actual installation after clicking the restore option again.
It worked quickly after that.

I have prepared these dedicated hard drives on Linux Mint. I used Brasero to burn CDs.

I had 7 windows installed in advance – as I received from the previous owner of the house and very slowly.

The first CD a is a bootable disc – nothing more than a burn, as if you burned a good, reliable regular ISO.

I have never looked at .rar files before. I extracted them to files by double clicking on the children, one on each CD.

Then I openedfolder and placed items (containing two folders) in the Brasero launcher. Then click to record.

I only needed a CD-R disc, but you could probably use the same CD-RW to CD-RW you had and burn on one machine and definitely switch to another – the program just asks for CDs at a new hour.

You don’t need to download anything like Windows or XP. Take advantage of the Lenovo World Wide website — all on these 12 floppy disks.

Install Windows XP first.

Then the whole process below can simply be done from the discs (install 8), reboot after the last DVD and it will be like a restore and restore application again. and inYou really think you did something wrong because you think you are in a start loop. Don’t re-submit the factory restore and then start the process and put it back in !!

Even the Spanish edition T42 strap (model number 2373VL9) worked for me.

I used DVD to prevent CDs from working then another 1 in 1 hard drive
On the other hand, when decreasing 7 rar files, besides writing only 2 sub-versions (MFG and RECOVERY), they will not be read
I used the Imgburn Write folder on my hard drive.

I had the same problem as the previous reviewer. The ISO somehow didn’t work on any of the data CDs.
I also used the Finder on your Mac (with Catalina) to burn someone else’s discs.
I upgraded to Express Burn, an ISO + Joliet file system for powerful data discs, and everything worked fine.
Note that Disc 2 is useful for over 700MB, so you either need an 800MB CD or you will probably burn it to DVD-R (I haven’t tested DVD + R or RW).

As the owner of the T42, I thought I ran into the Holy Grail when I discovered they were related to the archives. Unfortunately, after half the evening I wasted CDs. From the author of the written materials, I can conclude that they did not test this or that method or missed any method in the instructions. The author promises that you just need to drag the inside of each rar (two folders) to seven empty spaces. What our proprietary IBM Disc Recovery (iso) uses to help you recover your system.
Having made different speed of work with different programs several times. I have not had to adjust my T42 to a reading point other than ISO. So I can only conclude that the added 7 discs are still missing something that the recovery disc should recognize.
