this works fine with Fiesty, but when I updated to help Gusty, the speedtep_centrino module refused to load it, saying “device not found”. So I tried to clean up Gusty (Kubuntu) RC but your problem came up. But then I also installed Fiesty, updated my config and kept the old kernel, so that I boot the Fiesty kernel correctly with my updated speedtep_centrino gusty.
Please let me knowb if I can provide any other information!

Hello,
I have h. Portable P. Pavilion with Apple Centrino processor. The problem is that most of the speed is still set to 1.73GHz even when the battery is on, which usually drains the battery very quickly. I configured the cpuspeed.conf file and I also think I did it for this, but all the time I get the error “Speedtep_centrino module not found”. I also tried “modprobe SpeedStep_centrino” and the error remained the same.
I would really appreciate any help.
Can anyone tell us how your problem was resolved? !! 🙂
^ No, it was just a typo on my part, but I had it in my config file.
Fedora Weekly News had a list of solutions to common problems, and I found mine there.

You should use these 3 commands in terminal:
By the way, does anyone have any practical andDei on how to switch between many different speeds rather than just being in the middle of the max and min cpu while tuning? on one command?
Is there a way to automatically switch to power consumption when the AC adapter is on and running at minimum battery speed?
Arch Linux i686, reinstall. Kernel 2.6.31 (I’ve tried other kernels as well, like ZEN).
Computer: Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO L7300
Almost everything works under Ubuntu Karmic / Jaunty. He uses the Centrino Golf Club (cpufreq-info)
