Why does pidgin default to a blank resource?

Using some resources allows you to connect to your XMPP server from multiple sites at the same time. Resources can have meaningful names like home, work, mobile, etc., or something else entirely that you choose. Pidgin uses an empty resource by default because most servers allocate it when the new client does not provide it.

Yahoo’s stealth property is broken since Pidgin 2.0.2 copy:I can’t show myself online to friends using Stealth and earlier, and I can’t make myself invisible to a contact. I don’t use error messages; I can’t determine if this is a serious GTK bug or a Libpurple bug.

I also want to note that this is a checkmark item or something (switch) right in the context menu (when right-clicking on a friend).
