You can do whatever you want with it. It makes absolutely no sense to just ask for a “guaranteed” replacement. Contact WD to claim your current drive under warranty. (Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST) is now a subsidiary of Western Digital Corporation Don’t (wdc))

I have a spare drive that I definitely need the capacity of, but I ordered four that will arrive in 3 months.

I can’t copy my primary email .pst file from the NAS, but it fails halfway through. Does this mean that the file is infected with a virus, or that the disk is clearly not infected?

I think my concern is the main reason why the RAID array is still showing as “OK” because there is an insmart errors (sector reallocation count approaching 2000) and a red light for the drive when it recovered the device ‘and even a crash the drive is clearly readable (and not working) today.

Shouldn’t a particular disk be automatically suspended on each array raid and continue to function normally in degraded mode?

I’m sad that the wrong key as an active member of an array can usually result in file or parity corruption in the entire array. Are there any measures that are threatened by QNAP Raid 6?
